A PUPPY LOVE CHRISTMAS STORY

One of the adorable Panda Bear puppies -- Pyrenees and Border Collie mixes -- was given the name Coal.   Their children were told they were getting coal for Christmas.  Wouldn’t you just love to see the happy faces when their parents make good on that promise!

We wish you a spectacular Christmas story of your own.  To all our foster and adoptive families:  Thank you for saving the lives of the Louisiana dogs – we could not do this without you, and are incredibly grateful that you opened your hearts and gave these wonderful pups a chance to know love.   A round of applause surrounding our thanks to the Louisiana rescue network.

We look forward to a great New Year and many more TAILS to tell.

Happy Holidays in the most special meaning they hold for you.

Let's Make This A Great Holiday Season for Bourbon

Bourbon, a wonderful 1 yo chocolate lab mix, still needs a forever home.  Among the 40 dogs brought to Maine since we started Puppy Love this past September, Bourbon is the only dog not adopted.  He turns a year old on December 30. Let's get the magic of the holidays to work for him and get him the best birthday present ever - - a forever home of his own.

Bourbon was a star at the adoption promotion on the 19th.  He ADORES children of all ages.  The family who surrendered him had three young children.  Their hectic schedule and a mother expecting a fourth child was the reason he lost his home.  Bourbon is house trained, great on a leash and knows basic commands. He is cat friendly and loves to play with other dogs.  Bourbon is neutered and fully up to date on his shots and heart worm preventative medication.

GREAT ADOPTION EVENT YESTERDAY

We are thrilled.  Two of the panda bear looking puppies were scheduled to meet their families today at our adoption promotion at Pet Quarters.  They were very happy to meet their little dear hearts and we will miss their sweet presence in our home.  Spacey found his forever home too!  One of the applicants we have been working with on dog selection came to see him and, well, that sweet little boy put his best paw forward and closed the deal.  We are happy for him and grateful to Amy who did a fantastic job fostering him this past week and at today's event.  Marina was also helping at the event which lead to prospective applicants for Sophie the Bassett and Bourbon the chocolate Lab mix.  Not a bad way to spend a few hours.  Happy faces and wagging tails always warm our heart.
